Nabogo - carpooling in Hallingdal

Have you heard of Nabogo? Brakar has partnered with Nabogo to offer carpooling services in Hallingdal, Hemsedal, Ringerike, and Hole. This solution allows drivers to earn a little extra on routes they already drive, while passengers with a period ticket from Brakar can travel for free.

How does Nabogo work?

The concept is simple and works through the Nabogo app, where drivers register their trips, and passengers can search for available seats. Drivers receive a subsidy per passenger to cover fuel costs, and the app handles all transactions. Passengers without a period ticket travel for free the first 10 kilometers and then pay a small amount per kilometer, while passengers with a period ticket travel for free the entire way.

The scheme is ideal for combining carpooling with public transport, which can provide increased flexibility in areas with limited public transport options. Many users report feeling safe traveling together, as they often share routes with neighbors or colleagues, where carpool groups often form around workplaces and schools, for example.

The carpooling service represents an environmentally friendly and economical solution, offering significant benefits for both drivers and passengers. At the same time, it strengthens the public transport system in the region by improving the offer surrounding other public transport services, making it easier to choose public transport overall.
