Kvinnegnist Celebrates Its Anniversary!

On International Women's Day, Kvinnegnist celebrated its first anniversary. In its first year, the association has gained 90 members and organized several exciting events.

"It is amazing that the association already has 90 members from all over Hallingdal and across all age groups. We are thrilled with the great energy that is created when we come together!" say Maria Grevsgård and Agnete Sataslåtten, the initiators behind the network.

Exciting Events

Together with six other engaged women, they founded Kvinnegnist, and in its first year, the association has already carried out several exciting events. The kick-off at Fyri in Hemsedal brought together 60 women who received professional input from diversity expert Kristine Kotte. After the Hallingdal Conference, we had a visit from Mette Skare, who shared valuable tips on how to present oneself and dare to take up space. LinkedIn expert Hallfridur Johanssdottir has also been a guest speaker. In addition to professional input, all gatherings include time for networking and social activities.

Motivation for Starting Kvinnegnist

Board work has been a major focus during this first year. One of the motivations for starting Kvinnegnist was the new law on increased gender balance in Norwegian boards. Hallingdal Næringshage and Kimen til Vekst have, over the past six months, engaged the Board Association to run an authorization program for board members in Hallingdal. 90% of the participants are women, and 30 of them are members of Kvinnegnist. Several of these members are already listed on Kvinnegnist's board directory, which is gladly shared with the business community.

It is a proud one-year-old association looking forward to continuing its work for better diversity in the business sector in Hallingdal.
