BAMA Alpinfestival 2025
The weekend of March 21-23, the Bama Alpine Festival was held – the world's largest alpine children's ski race! The Alpine Festival is held annually and features a variety of competitions such as super-G, giant slalom, slalom, parallel slalom, and ski cross.

Originally, the festival is held in Ål, but 3 of the lifts at Ål Ski Center were not approved by the Norwegian Railway Authority this year, and the competitions had to be quickly moved to Geilo in Hol. The opening show and award ceremony were still held in Ål. Thanks to an impressive effort from volunteers and organizers, the festival was a success despite the changes.
Are Fosse, head of the organizing committee for the Bama Alpine Festival, says: 'It's impressive that we managed to move everything within a week. It's about an organization that is coordinated and has the drive and guts to get things done. And it was essential that we were well received by Ski Geilo and Geilo Sports Club. We couldn't have done it without them!'
The Bama Alpine Festival is known for its focus on inclusion and community. The event gives children under 12 the opportunity to participate in a safe and supportive atmosphere, where everyone is encouraged to do their best and have fun. The festival is arranged so that everyone can participate.
'The Bama Alpine Festival is open to everyone! We have worked to tone down the seriousness and make it simple. You need one pair of skis, not three or four. We have a set of values that we want to pass on to Norway's alpine skiers!' Are adds.
We are already looking forward to next year's Bama Alpine Festival and hope for even more exciting races and good memories!
