Hallinghygge – a meeting place for residents in Hallingdal

The Regional Program for Living and Thriving in Hallingdal has provided funding to all municipalities in Hallingdal to establish “Hallinghygge,” a new social meeting place for residents. Throughout the spring, the municipalities will organize events aimed at creating new meeting places for those who want to connect with new and old friends across established friend groups and generations. An important target group is new residents in Hallingdal, but of course, everyone is equally welcome!

Hallinghygge is intended to be an arena where people can meet across established friend groups and regular meeting places.

Each municipality decides how they want to shape the initiative, but all have committed to organizing a minimum of two Hallinghygge gatherings during the first half of 2025. In some municipalities, it is the “bolyst” (living and attraction) group that arranges the events, while in others it may be organized differently.

If you’re curious about what Hallinghygge is, follow the page Hallinghygge on Facebook.

This is the channel where events will be posted and shared to other local Facebook pages. Here you can find all events from each municipality, making it easy to stay informed about what’s happening both in your own and neighboring municipalities.

One of the most important tools in spreading the word is you—if you share information about the initiative and events with colleagues, neighbors, friends, and anyone you think would enjoy meeting other Hallingdal residents at a casual and friendly gathering. If the events are well attended, there’s hope that this can become a lasting meeting place for all of Hallingdal, beyond the pilot phase in 2025.
